As most projects, it all started with a desire to raise the bar.

The Festival started in 2014 when the Mohammed Bin Rashid School for Communication team decided to create a festival to facilitate the access of their students to a wider range of short films made by students around the world.

Throughout the 4 editions we introduced our students to hundreds of high quality films and to filmmakers from different countries and backgrounds, opening their horizons and raising the production value of their own graduation films. This is what keeps us going, seeing their wide-eyed faces looking at the screens, their minds broadened, their dreams bigger and closer.

We keep changing and evolving but always with the same mission: to expose our students and the Arab youth to the best, original and diverse films they can aspire to make! And keep making!

The 2019 edition will focus on the Arab youth and the promising, positive narratives they hold. Creativity is hope!
